Bad timing, I have it!
Jul. 26th, 2011 09:36 pmI stress at work & need to distract it away, or finish a project & need to clear my mind... and I deal with both of those by going on the internet. I shouldn't. I'm only supposed to do work-stuff on the internet at work.. but I do it anyway. And our IT is so overworked they never check to see where folks are going or what they're doing.
My boss has 'great' timing, especially the last week or so, and has been walking in for questions while I'm doing non-work things on the internet. It's nothing bad (just research, shopping, travel planning, etc)... but it's not work stuff.
I really need to get this bad habit under control. I'm not really sure how to go about it.
For starters I think I need to NOT always have firefox open. And only open it when I have to use one of the web-based applications that I need to use as part of my job.
We'll see how long I last. I always have these great intentions, and I always fall back to old habits.
Maybe once I have my Nook and have that with me at work, it'll be easier for me to chill & clear my head by reading a few pages instead of surfing the internet.
