rosebeeLast week I saw my podiatrist because my bad toe (both big toes are bad, but the right is worse), was feeling different. More achy, and I was getting a new & occasionally painful feeling of the right toe catching when I was flexing it upward.
Result was that my 'Hallux Limitus' (aka - degenerative arthritis of the big toes, it's due to biomechanical problems with my foot bones) was getting worse.
She took x-rays to compare to the old ones she took a couple years ago, and inspected my orthotics to see how they were holding up. She said I could keep my regular/athletic shoe orthotics, but that my dress shoe orthotics (which are also my roller skate orthotics) needed to be sent back for refurbishing.
She said the repairing would make them just like new, and would only take a week. I'm REALLY REALLY hoping she calls me today and says they're done because I want to go skating tonight!!
I can go skating without them, but it hurts a bit more.
Work's CRAZY busy, and I'm attempting to maintain just the right levels of exercise, good sleep, and sunshine/light box so as to not get overhwhelmed (or heaven forbid, depressed). I'm doing pretty good so far, so I'm very pleased with myself!
