Wow, it's really been a while...
Sep. 19th, 2010 09:49 pmRoller skating is still as much fun as I remember. Though it's also now good exercise, and when I was younger I *never* thought of it n that way.
It's been probably 15 years since I've been on skates. Tonight I went roller skating with a couple friends. It was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed myself. I fell, but only 3 times. First time was because I was still getting used to being on skates again. Second time was when I got off-balance on the rink. I might've been able to recover, but as I was flailing and trying to get my balance again, I hit another skater with my arms or something, and that turned into a 3-person pile up. The third time I fell was because I kept skating even when I knew I was tired & my leg muscles were getting weak & shaky.
Best of all, Sunday nights at the skating rink is 80's music night. :) No Justin Beiber or awful rap. :)
I'm going to slowly (& gingerly) get up from my computer chair and move into a comfy (well-padded) chair in the living room. The first time I fell I got my right hip a little bit. The second time I got my left knee & left elbow (skinned & now some good bruises are developing). The third time I fell my feet went right out from under me and I fell straight on my ass.
