Sigh.

Had the endoscopy this morning. I had one done before, so I kind of knew what was going to happen.

The results were sadly inconclusive. They said my esophagus was normal (that's good news, I suppose), and that I had mild gastritis (inflammation of the lining of the stomach). My last endoscopy said I had GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease and a Hiatal Hernia. The current one said nothing about a hernia. Whether they just didn't see it or whether it's somehow 'gone', I have no clue.

They took tissue samples of my stomach lining to send for biopsy (I'm assuming to find out what's causing the gastritis). It's supposed to take 1 to 2 weeks for the biopsy results to come back.

I'm suppose to follow up with the GI Dr. The soonest appointment I could get is three weeks from Thursday. :( I got on the cancellation list, but I don't know how much good that'll do me.

I decided I can't wait three more weeks before doing something about my inability to get a good night's sleep. So I've got an appointment with my regular Dr for this Thursday morning.

The whole thing is just SOOO frustrating. I wish it wasn't taking so damn long. I want to be fixed. And I really want a good night's sleep. I'm going to cross my fingers that my regular Dr on Thursday will be able to do something for the sleeping.

Thanks. It's been a challenge. I'm really hoping my Dr can do something on Thursday to help me sleep, that's been the worst part of the whole thing.

Lack of decent sleep for this long (it's been going on for nearly 6 weeks now) is really doing VERY bad things to my mood.

Lack of quality sleep does indeed suck. A lot. You have my sincere sympathy and empathy.
