I have *finally* got my quilt done!!! :D And not only did I get that done, but I also *finally* updated our Quicken. I was really proud of getting those things done this weekend!!
I still have to finish sewing the blinds for the living room... but once I've got those done I will be free to go sew something for myself!
My sewing has gotten derailed lately. First it was a struggle to finish that halter top dress... and I really wasn't totally happy with how it turned out, but I finished it. Then with the unfinished quilt hanging over my head and then the blinds... my urge to sew sort of disappeared. It's been slowly coming back though. I went to JoAnn's yesterday, and got a black cotton twill to make a jeans-type jacket out of. I want to 'test' the pattern & my adjusting skills on something else before I go make a jacket out of my nice fine-wale corduroy. I also have a knit dress I want to adjust & cut out & sew! I think I want to do the knit dress first, and then the jacket.
But first I have to finish the damn roman blind. I've got the fabric & blackout lining pieced together & trimmed to the right overall width & length. I've also got one side sewn. Still remaining to be done is: the second side, the top & bottom hem, sewing the velcro strip to the top hem, and the hardest part - sewing all the roman shade tape strips in place. Those are only hard for the tape strips that go in the middle, simply because there's so much *blind* to deal with. The tape strips that aren't in the middle are actually pretty easy to sew in place.
MrB is very eager for me to get this blind finished, so I promised him I'd try to get it done next weekend. :) We'll see how I do.
