Monday again...
Sep. 28th, 2009 07:09 amThe weekend always goes by too quickly!
Yesterday was productive, which is good as this upcoming weekend I'm going up to Portland to visit my friend H.
For the first time inweeks months, I actually did some clothing-sewing-related activity yesterday! :) I cut out the pattern pieces for a knit dress. I still have to hand-sew the binding to the backside of my quilt, and I still have to finish the blackout roman shades for the living room. Those two things have put me at a creativity/sewing standstill, as I don't really want to do either activity. Maybe if I sew the binding while watching tv or something I can get it done. And I just need to take a day and designate it "finish-the-damn-shade-day".
Then I'll be able to move on to more fun stuff! Like adjusting and fitting that knit dress. I have at least a yard of extra fabric, so I feel less nervous about getting the fitting exactly right the first time around. The first time I'm going to make it out of a nice cranberry red cotton-lycra jersey. I also have black & white jersey fabric, and if the red dress goes well, I might make a long-sleeved version out of the black fabric.
Then I want to try to make a pair of pants. I have a nice wool suiting I can use for the pants - but the first time I make the pants I want to use something that's not my really good fabric. So I might stop by Fabric Depot and buy some fabric on my way home from visiting my friend this weekend.
Off to the shower!
