Sunday afternoon (3 days ago)...

Me: Just so you know, I'm going to want to go out to dinner on Tuesday.
MrB: Ok, what's on Tuesday?
Me: Our Anniversary. :)
MrB: Oh. right. Anniversary! Dinner! Got it!

Last night (Tuesday) @ 5pm...
Me: [looks at MrB in older jean shorts & t-shirt... thinks to self, I'm pretty sure he didn't write down our anniversary & forgot]
Me: So, what do you want to do for dinner tonight?
MrB: Oh probably this [as he opens the fridge door]
Me: [walks over to calendar] But, but but... it's the 23rd... of June!
MrB: Oh! The 23rd! Yes! How about a nice dinner out somewhere?
Me: Yes! :D
MrB: [looking VERY sheepish/embarrassed] I'm going to go put this in my cell phone now
Me: Did you know one of the kinds of notes you can add is "anniversary"? It'll tell you what # anniversary it is with a pop up reminder 2 or 3 days before hand.

I'm half-expecting a nice sappy card &/or flowers today to make up for his memory lapse yesterday (though given how busy he is with school today, it might be tomorrow).

We eventually had a VERY nice dinner out at a nice restaurant that was on the river/bike path. We got there early, so it was nice and sparsely populated and I was able to hear MrB with NO problems!

After dinner we both decided a walk sounded good (by the time we got home it morphed into a nice quiet/easy bike ride). By the time we were on our bikes we decided it would be a lot of fun to ride our bikes downtown to the recently re-opened cafe that had great desserts (they do dinners & lunches too, but we've never been for that).
The good news is that the cheesecake I had with fresh raspberries on top was delicious! The bad news is that MrB's cake was as dry as a bone - I think cardboard would've been easier to swallow! Also, the service was atrocious, and the wait time was awful. If all we ordered was a piece of cake and a piece of cheesecake... that should *not* take 15 minutes to plate and serve. We won't be going back there.
Luckily there's another place in town that only does desserts and they do a good job at it. Unfortunately it's just as noisy/crowded as the other place we went. And as I couldn't hear MrB, and he didn't want to shout so the whole restaurant could hear him, he ended up texting me what he wanted to say. I'm really looking forward to when we're both more conversant in ASL.
