Trying to explain the Garbage In/Garbage Out concept to people at work. Evidently this was new terminology for them as they found it very very funny.
Relatedly, there are all sorts of statistics and data that my boss would like us to be able to produce but are unable to because our ancient software program was not designed with enough of the right kind of variables to track those things.
I've been working on pulling raw data from the database, then fiddling with it in Excel. I enjoy this. It's a fun & different thing for me to do with my day, and it fills in the time when I would otherwise be a little bored with not enough to do. I think though that I haven't fully explained this to my boss, as he said that yes, I'd like those numbers, but it's not the best use of my time. Perhaps he doesn't quite get that at this exact moment (and for the next 2 or 3 days), I don't have anything more pressing to do with my time. :)
I so want to be able to come home from work and do productive things! Like repositioning and sewing buttons on my shirt, or basting my practice dress together to see how it'll fit, or drawing the lines for quilting onto my quilt. But I get home, I find dinner, and I crash in front of the tv.
I have a Wii Fit that I really enjoy, but it's been weeks since I've fired that up. I should do that tonight. Like really, really, really should. I've got to get back into that routine.
Breaking old habits and creating new ones is hard!
