I recently decided that I wanted to try & feel more beautiful and more feminine. So I've been improving my wardrobe to assist myself in this goal. Previously, all I'd wear to work would be a 'uniform' of slightly baggy khakis/chinos (of various shades of tan/black/navy/brown), along with baggy ill-fitting button-up long-sleeved shirts, and short sleeve sweater shirts.

I've been trying to first work on work clothes. I've gotten a couple of nice pairs of pants (a nice stretch red sateen & a nice lined white wool/polyester/spandex/nylon pair). I've gotten a nice brown & white sweater, and a nice short-sleeved button-up blouse.

Yesterday I did more shopping! :D I got two sleeveless 'shaper tops', they're made out of silk & nylon with a full lining that's polyester & spandex, and does a nice job of pulling in the tummy slightly. I also got two short-sleeved pleated v-neck tees from J.Jill (I got them in brown & ivory). Plus I got a decent looking 3/4 sleeved jacket that fits me beautifully. It's a nice casual unlined jacket. I want more jackets so that I can wear nice, but sleeveless, tops in my very warm office, then put on a nice spring/summery jacket when I have to go to other parts of the building & look professional.

Today I have two main goals:
1) hem the nice lined white pants I bought at least 2 or 3 weeks ago.
2) Sew & attach the lining of my almost-finished spring skirt.

I'm also debating about whether or not I want to go to the other mall in town for more shopping today. :)

Oh, yeah! In a fit of spring cleaning spurred on by the *beautiful* weather we've been having the last couple of days, I moved my fall/winter clothes to the spare bedroom closet, and put the spring/summer clothes in! :D

And I decided to organize the little cubby where I keep the fabric I've bought for projects I haven't started yet. I'm building what's known as a 'stash'. Where I buy fabrics for patterns, get home realize I didn't know *what* I was thinking and decide that fabric just won't work for that pattern. So I go out and purchase more fabric and keep the other for later projects. Well, I don't have a lot of storage space for my sewing stuff, so I try REALLY hard not to do this. However, after organizing this little cubby area, I've realized I have managed to accumulate 16.5 yards of fabric in my 'stash'. I had no idea I'd collected that much!!

I need the same goal as you and I kind of have been doing it. I feel like I should dress more for 'the next level' though. For example, I would love it to be one of those girls you see and think, "Wow, she's always dressed to the nines!" I'm just soooo lazy, though. Sitting in a desk dressed like that never seems like it would be comfortable either, though. :(

That's neat you've amassed that much fabric 'on accident'. heh!
