I want more weekend!!
Mar. 16th, 2009 07:04 amI had a great weekend! I went shopping on Saturday, and hit some great sales. I got a cute blue & white jacket from Chicos for $49 (instead of the marked $120)! :) I also two pairs of pants from Talbot's - a pair of red stretch cotton sateen pants that fit perfectly and make my butt look all sorts of cute, and a pair of white dressy pants they're fully lined and made out of a polyester/rayon/wool/spandex blend. They're dry clean only (I think because they're lined). If I'm feeling very brave I might see if I can wash them in the machine on delicate and then hang them up to dry.
I also got a cute pink blouse from Christopher & Banks (it's also a nice shiny stretch cotton sateen). PLUS I got the most slimming sweater ever from Ralph Lauren at Macy's, it's a brown v-neck sweater with brown & white stripes in a chevron pattern down the front. The stripes point down (\/)and by god if that's not the most slimming effect I've ever seen! I looked in the mirror and it looked like I lost 20 pounds and went from a DD cup to a C cup!
I also picked up two nice brightly printed t-shirts. One in yellow & white, and the other in a multi-color floral that has a little bit of black in it and will look fabulous with a pair of black jeans!
And yesterday I got lots of sewing preparation work done! I got my short-sleeved button-up shirt all adjusted, and I got my knit dress all adjusted! I even got the knit dress cut out. :) I'm hoping next weekend to sew up the knit dress and to get my halter top dress tissue fitted and adjusted. Then in my class on the 28th I can cut out and sew my first muslin of the halter top dress and get the teacher's help on fine-tuning the pattern fitting.
Have I mentioned yet I'm ready for more weekend?
I'd wear either my new red pants or my new pink shirt today... but they *both* need ironing. :( I suppose if I'm quick with my shower and let the iron warm up while I'm in there, I'll have time to iron the red pants. I have a nice gray long-sleeved polo shirt that would be just perfect with the bright red pants!
