I have to go to work today, but I'm hoping my boss will be as nice as he usually is the day before a holiday and close the office early at 3pm.

We didn't end up doing ANY decorating for Christmas this year. Things just got too busy, I suppose. We got all the gifts for my family wrapped, but still need to wrap the things for MrBee's brother & SIL. The framing isn't done yet on the wedding collage we had our photographer prepare for us, so we can't ship that down to MrBee's mother quite yet. But that's ok, she called us yesterday to say our gift hadn't been mailed yet (and actually hadn't been bought yet!).

I need to post pictures and write up a review for myself of the two dresses I've finished. One is wearable if I have the right bra on (so it won't show through the neckline that's too low) and if I don't need to raise my arms much. The second one isn't wearable without some alterations. I need to shorten the (slightly long) short sleeves so that I can hopefully raise my arms a bit more, and at ankle length it's just too much dress for my short frame. I think that if I shorten it to knee length it'll be better. I'll take some pictures before I make the alterations and see what you all think. MrBee and I call this second dress my "little house on the prarie dress" the way it is right now. Great if I was doing a play, but not something I want to wear in public.

I also have a really cute green skirt I made (that has only one little pucker where I attached the skirt to the waistband). I still need to hem it though - it'll be just-past-knee-length. The pucker is on the side by a pocket, and I'm hoping it won't be too noticeable when I'm wearing the skirt.

Upcoming projects are a cute little jumper, and a nice fitted vest. Both I will need to learn how to do a full bust adjustment if I want to have any chance of them fitting me. But lucky for me I signed up for a Pattern Fitting class at the same local sewing machine shop that had the 3 learn to sew workshops I took last quarter.

In other news, I decided my brain didn't get enough exercise in my slightly repetitive job, so I picked up a good fat book on the History of the Russian Revolution, and am slowly making my way through it. It's quite fascinating, and infinitely more complicated that I expected! It's fun to think about the different ways things could've gone if only one or two (or three) people made slightly different decisions.
