My folks got to met HTB's mom. It went well, and they all got along! Even the embarassing/amusing stories about various childhood antics & escapades got trotted out.

HTB didn't get the local job. :( The company he interviewed with (via the employment agency) evidently never made up their minds on the whole thing. So I suppose there's still a (small microscopically tiny) chance they could make a decision and he'd get the job.

So, HTB drove back to Idaho on Friday afternoon/evening after lunch with our folks. He has a temp job there until the end of January. Once that's over though I think he's going to finally move in with me for good [& hope to god that it'll really happen]. Some things just can't be fully expressed or communicated over the phone. One of those things for me is my dissatisfaction/unhappiness at the long-distance portion of our relationship. He's said (in not quite so many words) that living/staying with me the past 3 weeks and being able to discuss things in person and see me & my reactions & feelings has helped him better understand how strongly I feel about the distance.

I've been wishing lately for science & technology to develop a way to psychically/telepathically link brains. Some things are a heck of a lot easier to verbalize than others.

In other news I've recently become enamored with a newly acquired video game (for my PS2). Game is Dark Cloud 2, it's a fabulously entertaining rpg. Not quite as good as Kingdom Hearts, but very close. Though it's very much a different style of game, and not super comparable.
It has the traditional dungeon exploration, but non-traditional character & weapon leveling up. Weapons leveled up by experience points which give you points you use combine crystals & things to transform your weapon, and the characters are levelled up by traveling into the future & collecting your reward for putting everything back together by rebuilding the town. Town is rebuilt by knowledge stones found in each dungeon level that are fed into the rebuilding machine. Building towns is fun. :) Each stone gives you a couple more clues about the dozen or two things needed to do to rebuild the town & put the future back together. Each stone also gives you one or two more things for your rebuilding machine to build.
You can also take pictures of things and then use those pictures to invent stuff for your characters (like items, weapons & other such stuff... I happily found a list of items that tells me of what 3 pictures to put together to invent each thing).

I'm eagerly & (so far) patiently awaiting the release of Kingdom Hearts 2!

I have plans to finally purchase a new computer in February. My current computer is pushing 6 and a half years old. I've maxed out the RAM and added a CD burner, but it's been at the exteme end of its useful lifespan for quite some time now.
I'm gonna get something that will let me play Sims2! :D My current computer is too ancient to even think about trying to play that game. Sims2 should keep me sufficiently occupied for quite a while.
I thought hard about putting the PS2 version of Sims2 on my Christmas list, but then I learned that one of the *many* modifications they made from the PC version was the removal of the whole aging concept and I think they removed children altogether.
Um. 'xcuse me? That's the whole appeal of the game. Otherwise it's just the same thing as the old one in a prettier spiffier package.

You'd think I'd remember that updating works better when I do shorter entries more frequently. :p

Goals for this week include lots of cleaning up. I want to be totally ready to put up Christmas decorations next weekend!
I think I'm going to wait until Dec 1st to bring in my Christmas CD's to work.
