You know that children's book? Alexander & the No-Good-Horrible-Very-Bad Day? I've had one of those.

For the last 36 hours...

Thursday night - Got home from work in a kinda bad mood, goal was to get directly onto the computer and play Sims for a bit before HTB got home and would want on the sole functioning computer. All the crap on my computer desk caused the glass of flavored slightly-carbonated water I had to not have a stable surface underneath it when I set it down absentmindedly while I was doing something with the mouse on the computer. This caused the glass to tip over and spill all over the desk (soaking the papers that were there, some of which were important tax info papers), part of my keyboard, the carpet, the side of the desk, and the backside of HTB's nonfunctional computer (it needs a new motherboard). I was NOT happy. I got it all cleaned up - while fuming the entire time, I swear that there was actual steam coming out my ears! Finally got Sims up & running and managed to sit down and play for a bit.
In the course of cleaning up the water & frustration at not having a clear solid desktop surface to put my drink down on I cleared up some of the crap & the papers that were clutterring my desktop. In the process of doing so I found a credit card payment I should've mailed off a week ago. I had another one with it and I remember thinking it was odd that there was only one to mail when I clearly remembered setting aside two that needed further mailing. Anyway, I found it and put it in my purse figuring that I'd just drop it off by the credit union on my way to work the next morning.

Friday (the 13th no less, and also a full moon) - I woke up ok, but was very glad that it was Friday and reveled in the fact that I wouldnt't have to wake up to an alarm for the next 3 days. I attempted to get done with my morning routine early so I would have time to drop off the late payment by my credit union. I got pissed off with all the dishes that never seem to go anywhere after eating & showering I worked on those. Then I realized I needed to do my hair & get ready or I'd be late to work & not have enough time to drop off my payment. So I was rushing around the apartment and took a corner to tight and hit the side of my head against the corner of the hallway. OUCH!! My head hurt for several hours Friday morning, and of course put me in the most foul mood. I was (a little) late to work, and didn't get my payment dropped off.

During the day at work I realized that there were things that needed to be purchased from Costco (blank dvds, cleaning wipes, batteries, and other assorted items). I volunteered to make the Costco run so I could drop by the credit union that's right next door and finally drop off this late credit card payment. The trip didn't go too badly, until I got back to the parking lot at work and took the box out of my car and started walking down the sidewalk back to the office. It's been wet here lately. Really raining a LOT. So of course I slipped & fell on some wet leaves that were on the sidewalk. Skinned my knee a little bit through my jeans, took of about 3 layers of skin on the palm of one hand, and of course dropped the box of goodies & broke the cover locking mechanism on the spindle of dvds.
That was just my morning & my day at work. I figured that was it and once I got through the remaining hour and a half of my day life would be good, or at least ok. But of course not. I got home to realize that a bunch of keys on my keyboard were no longer functional. Important keys like Del, Backspace, - , e, t, and u.

So HTB got home, we went out & got dinner at Costco & looked to see if they had any keyboards that would work for me. I LOVED my old keyboard. It was several years old, and was one of the original versions of the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro. They don't make it anymore. :(
We looked around at several stores in town, and I ended up shelling out $60 for these.

So far it's not bad. But I still want my old keyboard back. I'm slowly getting used to the weird 'lift' thing that makes the keyboard slope downhill instead of uphill. The padded wrist rest is a nice upgrade from my old one thought.

I'm happy that I have today and the next 2 days off. I'm planning a shopping trip up to a nearby outlet mall with a friend on Monday.
Today & tomorrow is when HTB & I clean up/organize & put in storage all the excess stuff in the computer room here so we can make room for another computer desk.
Also today I'm going to go to costco.com and order me a customized HP Pavilion a1330e.
I'll post the specs later. :)
