It's FRIDAY!!! :D
Jun. 17th, 2005 07:28 amHappiness is!
Though I do really wish that the weather would cooperate and give us a *dry* weekend. Just two days, that's all I'm asking for. Two days. Where I don't have to work, and it doesn't rain. Last Sunday was the first Sunday since March that was rain-free. Since March! That's nearly 3 solid months without a dry Sunday.
I'll give Mother Nature until Tuesday. Then it'll officially be Summer and I will demand my sunny & dry weekends!
I scanned through the paper this morning while I was eating breakfast. Was saddened when I read an article about how the US deported a 16-year-old New York girl who'd lived in the US from the age of 5. They suspected her of being a *potential* suicide bomber. Never mind the fact that they interrogated her and didn't come up with anything other than the fact that she defended her Muslim religious beliefs. I had to hunt for it, but you can read the story here.
Wrong. I can't wait until we can get somebody else in the White House.
My power company failed to include the handy-dandy return envelope with my bill. I suppose it's too much to hope for that such a lapse means I don't have to pay it this month. Instead I get to go online to their website, set up an account so I can attempt to pay the bill online. At least I remembered to go get registered & get my password *before* the bill was actually due!
Off to work. In the rain. And the insanely ugly traffic. They're rebuilding a bunch of the bridges around town, and at least half of the major routes through town are out of commission. Including 1 of the 2 main (almost only) ways out of the downtown area (which is of course where I work).
