I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed their holiday weekend!! I know I did. :)
An amazing thing happened this weekend. I downgraded technologically speaking. I know, I know... I never thought this day would come either! Over the last 4 months since I've started my nice low-stress government job, I've found that almost everytime I've gone to open up my PDA, the darn thing's batteries have completely run out! It doesn't work really well that way. Because before I can really use it again, I have to remember to charge it up, and then trying to remember to sync it up to my computer at home to restore everything that was lost when the batteries died.
I've gotten tired having to do all that just to jot down a doctor's appointment two weeks from now. I didn't get rid of my nice little (2+ years old) Sony Clie N760C, but I have removed it from my purse to take up permanent residence on my computer desk (for now, anyway).
Instead, my purse now contains an old-fashioned dead-tree variety organizer. A nice small purse-sized DayTimer. Got the nice dated pages & the leather holder thing for only $50 ($35 for the leather holder & $15 for the 2005 pages). Sometime in the next 6 months I'll need to go get the 2006 pages. I have the most condensed variety you can get, one page per day. The next most condensed ones have a full week over 2 pages, and though my life is much less stressful with much less I have to do & remember, that would just not be enough room.
And just as always, I jumped out of my skin constantly last night. I have such a high startle reflex it's not even funny!! I really enjoy watching the fireworks though. I just wish they weren't so suddenly loud & noisy. :/
I love having only a 4-day workweek ahead of me! And then after that I get to hop on an airplane and go see my hubby-to-be, as my lovely wonderful amazing boss has agreed to send me to a week-long grantwriting class that just *happens* to be held in the same town as where my HTB lives! :)
And now I should get my little behind to work or I'm gonna be late. And that would be bad.
I'll have to write more later about my stepbrother's wedding I went to on Saturday afternoon, the rather nice sunburn I received because I forgot to put on sunscreen, and how nice my new stepsister-in-law's father is!
::bounces out the door::
[Edit - so ending cut-tags is a good thing to remember, huh?]
