rosebeeYAY!!! I'm almost all packed (just need to put my bike on the rack), and will hit the road verysoonnow.
I'm so looking forward to this trip!
I've been keeping up (mostly) with reading everyone's posts, but I've been bad about posting myself (or commenting or anything).
I think the last time I spent this much time watching CNN was the tsunami in south asia. I'm just amazed by what's happening in New Orleans. I can barely wrap my head around it all.
I read somewhere that if aid & such is this disorganized and this slow to arrive to those in need when we knew days in advance that this hurricane was coming, what does that say about what kind of response we'll get if there's an unexpected major catastrophe with mass casualties?
Probably won't find time to post (or check LJ) until after I get back. See y'all Wednesday!
