Dec. 20th, 2004 08:57 amI have another interview this morning with a different company. It's in a town 45 minutes to an hour north of where I live. The commute wouldn't be much fun, but once this damn lease on my apartment is up I'd be able to think about moving up to that town.
Either tomorrow or the day after I should hear back from the company I interviewed with last week. I think I'd rather have that job. The company (while ultimately owned by a publically traded company) is smaller than the company I'm interviewing with today, and I think I like that. The company I'm interviewing with today is an engineering & consulting company (according to their webpage). The other one's a construction company. I want to stay away from consulting. That's basically where I came from (public accounting). And I had all kinds of problems with getting things done in the allotted amount of time and not going over buget. Granted, the position I'm applying for within this enginering/consulting company is that of a project accountant (tracking revenues & details & things for specific projects), so perhaps I'm excessively worrying about my known weaknesses with staying within a time budget. No way to find out except go to the interview! The interview's in 2 hours, and since it's an hour away, I want to leave in half an hour or so (give myself time to get lost & find the place & stuff).
