Happiness!!
Feb. 2nd, 2005 08:08 pmSo, I had an interview this morning.
I think everyone's well wishes did some good. The interview went REALLY well! They told me at the end of the interview that sometimes they do a 2nd interview, and sometimes they don't, and that they should have a decision for me within 7 to 10 days. My interview was at 9am this morning. It went rather quickly, and it was over by 9:30. My cell phone rang at 2 o'clock this afternoon. They want me to come in tomorrow at 1:30 to meet the person I'd be directly working with. Evidently they want her to meet a couple people, and then have her decide who to hire.
I saw the list of names when I told the receptionist I was there for my interview. I was the first person interviewed out of a total of 5 people.
I've never heard of a government moving this quickly! I think this is a really good sign! It's funny, because I almost didn't apply for this job. The beginning end of the pay range is a bit low, and I was worrying about how I'd make it work at that rate. But in the interview, they told me the position starts at the middle of the range... and that works out to actually be a bit of a raise over what I was making at my last job! :D
And then, as soon as this little 2nd interview is over, I have to hustle my ass (almost) across town for the other interview I have at 2:30. This other one's at a local non-profit, and would also be a good job.
My boy's probably going to call soon - he calls as soon as he can after 9pm (when the unlimited cell phone minutes kick in).
Other goodness of my day:
-successfully obtained Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Syrup!! :D I've been looking for this for several weeks, and eventually found it at Albertson's.
-Eggnog! A local dairy (Lochmead, sold at DariMart & other places - DariMart's a local version of 7-11) is still making/selling it! I love eggnog (especially this brand(!
