rosebeePanic moment: When I realized I forgot to set up the VCR to tape TRL before I left this house this morning.
Problem was solved when I remembered that TRL airs from 5pm to 6pm, and if I take a short lunch, I should be able to make it home by 5pm without too much of a problem.
Sad news: I was playing Sims this weekend (big shock, I know), and happily enjoying my new Vacation expansion pack. Then I had this trouble saving the game. When I tried to do so the game & computer would lock up and I'd have to reboot. Eventually there turned out to be no fix, so I had to uninstall and reinstall everything. Then when I went to start it back up again, it'd get all the way through the intro screens and such, but it would close itself down before it got to the neighborhood screen. (side note: before uninstalling, I copied my userdata folder and pasted it back into place after reinstalling everything).
On a whim, I decided to uninstall and reinstall again. But, this time testing the playability after each step of the reinstallation (after the game install, and each expansion pack install). It played just fine after each one. And was perfectly playable even after all the expansion packs were installed. The only thing I did differently was that I did *not* add back in my userdata folder... the one thathas had all of my houses, families, and *everything*. Looks like it got corrupted.
If I look at the bright side of it all, it means I have the perfect excuse for starting completely over from scratch. Redoing the families, last names, and everything.
I think I'm going to use more than just the one neighborhood this time. Each neighborhood will consist of different pairing combinations. JC/Justin, Lance/Chris, and Joey/Kelly in the first. Justin/Lance, Chris/Joey, JC/Carlos in the 2nd. Lance/Jess(i)e, Justin/Joey, and JC/Chris in the 3rd. Somewhere in there I'm going to add a Jessie/Carlos/Trace household (probably in the first neighborhood), a Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachey house, and a Nick Carter / Howie Dorough house.
I'm not sure which neighborhood I want to start on first. Probably the first one.
