This post is brought to you by the rumored statement from Johnny that I refuse to believe is real, and the not-quite-a-real-answer that is today's Access Hollywood.
This post is also brought to you by the objects that were left in my dvd player from my last (unfinished) round of footage watching.
The dvd in question is the Fort Lauderdale, Florida Celebrity Tour Concert from April of 2002. I remember when I saw the Celebrity Tour. I didn't have the money to travel, or see multiple shows, or anything like that. I just saw them once. It's the first and only time I've seen *NSYNC in concert. I had the amazing good luck to get a seat in the 3rd row, right on the catwalk, at ticketmaster.com. Adding to the specialness of the concert was the fact that it was the first show of the tour and no body knew what would happen (it also meant that impatient little me couldn't go look online for spoilers, so I was happily surprised all evening). I will remember that show forever. (it helps that I took lots of pictures, and have bootleg concert dvd from other shows). I also was lucky enough to get a pass to the soundcheck party. I remember standing in the interior hallway of the Rose Garden, waiting for them to finish their real soundcheck so we could go in and do the soundcheck party. I remember being rather confused about the odd jazz-blues sounding song, then it got to the chorus and I figured out it was that wonderful remix of I Want You Back. I remember nearly keeling over when I heard them practicing their Beatles/Temptations medley.
Those are my happiest, best memories of *NSYNC.
I also remember returning from that concert, and thinking about how wonderfully perfect it was. How that concert could so easily have been an unofficial 'good-bye/we'll see you later' concert.
My personal theory? That they're gonna wait to see what & how BSB do. Then they'llmake a decision about whether to come back for another group album themselves.
Random (or not-so-random) thought.Either later this month, or in a couple of months it will have been exactly 10 9 years since *NSYNC filmed their demo concert at Pleasure Island.
10. years.
Wow.

Date: 2004-08-10 08:20 pm (UTC)Me, too. I just wish all their fans could have a chance to build their own wonderful memories.
There are a lot of folks out in LJ land who are hiatus-only fans, and I always feel a bit bad gushing about my wonderful memories when they've never had the opportunity.
