gearing up...
Apr. 5th, 2007 08:13 amI realized that since my honeymoon is going to a place where the primary activity is hiking I should have a really good well-fitting pair of hiking boots, and a backpack that works for me and fits me. Neither of those two things I have.
So I popped into a local outdoor store and quickly found a pair of boots I like. I have to go back this weekend with my orthotics in hand to make sure they fit with those, too. The boots are Montrail Torre GTX, and they come in wide width and they have a really really nice big toebox, which my poor arthritic toes like very much. Lookie!
I'm still trying to decide on backpacks. I have a terrible problem trying to find a backpack that fits me and hangs right. I'm short, so that's one problem, but the other is that I have a bit of scoliosis and my shoulders aren't quite even, which means that backpacks usually *never* hang right. I haven't tried any on in person yet, but there's a few that seem to have all the features I want in a basic day pack. An REI brand one here, a Kelty brand here, and one by this company I hadn't heard of before called GoLite here.
The Kelty one might be a bit big for what I need, but I won't have a better idea of that until I try it on and see it in person.
I'm really, really enjoying Joey on DWTS!! :D
I've also been having fun looking up house plans online and using them to build my sims houses. :)
And now I get ready to go to my last physical therapy appointment for my knees!! Hurray!! :D
