SNOOOWWWWWWW!! :D

I *love* it when it snows!!! I happens so rarely here, that it's extra special when it does happen. About once a year (but not every year) we get now that sticks on the valley floor.

It's so cool to wake up and see everything covered by a blanket of white!

I'm in a slightly warmer area of town (by a lake/pond), and we had about an inch (maybe a little bit more) stick over here. The higher elevations and some of the more outlying areas has LOT more snow.

This is when I wish I was a kid, because pretty much ALL the school districts in the area have just closed for the day.

But I still have to go to work. :(

At least I have a Subaru and I don't have to worry about whether my car will physically be able to make it there. Though they've got all the major roads & the freeways & highways plowed & sanded, so just getting out of my apartment complex's parking lot will be the most interesting part of my commute this morning!

things...

Happy things: It's Friday!!! And it's finally closer to 5pm than it is to 8am! :)

Frustrating things: When people think that 26 letters is just too many for someone to have to remember the order of so they decide that it doesn't matter if they don't bother to properly alphabetize everything they were supposed to.


Sad things: When someone you care about tells you (while it's 33 degrees & snowing) that they want to go outside & sleep under the gutters... and you tell them that they don't deserve that, and they agree with you and say in all seriousness that doing so would keep the rain off them and should just go sleep out in the open...


I don't get depression (both in the sense that it doesn't really affect me - other than a couple months a year ago when I was fired right before Christmas), and also in the sense that it just doesn't make sense to me & I have trouble wrapping my head around it.
I want to know what to say, what to do, how to help... but I'm not sure that there's any real good way I can.
