Today is our last payday of the year, and my direct deposit advice told me I should save it because it had YTD info I might find helpful for my 2005 taxes.

So I decided to follow that advice and take it one step further. I went online and got my unemployment payment info from Jan & Feb, then printed out 2005 tax forms from irs.gov.
Pulled out the ol' pencil and sketched out a few numbers.
I was rather disappointed in my state department of revenue as they don't have the 2005 tax forms posted online yet. So I had to sketch out my state numbers using last year's form. I hope they don't change things too much because I like the way my rough draft came out! :)

This is the earliest I've *ever* gotten my income tax numbers done. It's not all official until I get the w-2's...

But I can already see the new computer on my desk at home!! :D

I love refunds! They're a hell of a lot better than paying. Especially refunds that are several hundred dollars. :)

A new computer!! In a month's time, I'll have a new computer. :D

But its days as a primary machine are coming to an end. HTB & I will still keep it around. There're two of us here now, and we *really* need 2 functional computers. This machine will become HTB's main machine, as well as my backup machine when HTB needs to use my new one (aka the household's superfastnewspiffy machine) to play games or something on.
We'll at least have 2 machines that can check email & the internet and do other basic functions.

more babble than anyone really needs to know about my current 'puter & dreams for a new one )

I LOVE getting good-sized tax refunds. If I did my math right (which is a decent sized if, considering how I roughed out the numbers on my lunch hour) I should have between $800 & $900 to spend on a new computer.
HTB & I will need to get a 2nd computer desk though so we have somewhere to put the backup/HTB's computer.

Oh boy! Shopping!!

We're going to take a day and go up to Portland sometime next month. There's an exhibit going on at the Portland Art Museum that I *really* want to see, so we figured we'll just stop by Fry's after that and pick up a new computer (assuming of course that they'll have the best prices). I figured I'd also price scout Costco and Dell.
I want it to be next month already!

Mostly for the new computer, but also because HTB & I just found out his former landlady can *only* do a walkthrough on his apartment on Friday Dec 30th. He's going to have to ask for that day off special... and we're going to have to drive over to Idaho the night before, after work (arriving in the wee hours of the morning), feverishly spend most of the day Friday cleaning the apartment, and then do the walkthrough with his landlady late that afternoon...
And hope to GOD we cleaned up enough for him to get his deposit back! He's only been there for 6 months so at least it can't be too bad...
::knocks on wood::

And this cold of mine is finally starting to go away & I'm starting to feel really close to human! ::knocks on wood some more::
Pneumonia sucks!
