I think I need serious professional help.

I just went to Circuit City. I bought myself a new 40GB hard drive, The Sims: Double Deluxe, The Sims: Hot Date Expansion Pack, and a new optical mouse.

My poor old POS computer isn't going to know what to do with 40GB. It currently has a pathetic 9GB. But with 40 I won't need to burn off downloaded audio & video to CD-R's every week. I'll be able to keep it on my hard drive for a fabulously long time! And no, I didn't buy the $80 hard drive just so I'd have enough room to install The Sims on my computer. Why would I do a thing like that? I couldn't possibly want to play the Sims while watching a DVD, or a VHS tape, or something on tv, or reading LJ, fanfic, or checking my email. Pshaw! I'd never, ever want to such a hyperactive overly-multitasking thing like that.

So, anyone have some good advice for me on how to lay out this new hard drive of mine once I pry open the case and install it? The guy at the store said I'd probably want to put my operating system on the 9GB drive, and save all my stuff to the other one. Can I move all my programs to the big drive without screwing anything up? And do I need to reinstall everything, or can I just do a drag & drop type operation in Windows Explorer?

I think it's time for me to go do some research.
