BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

::falls out of chair laughing::

'k. So, I just got back from an afternoon & evening with my parents and my grandparents. We went to see Mystic River. It was good. During the middle of the movie, I was all "hey, that one character looks sorta familiar." Some time went buy, and this guy's face showed up on screen again. I went ah ha! I know who that is, it's Donnie! From New Kids! Then more time goes by, and this guy shows up again. I get a closer look, when his character's not in shadows (he didn't talk much, just a not quite an extra, not quite a minor supporting role), when I think, hmmm... gee, that doesn't look quite right, maybe it's not Donnie. But it sure looks like him. Maybe I'm just imagining things since the movie's set in Boston.

So I get home and hop onto IMDB.com.

Turns out the person I thought was Donnie wasn't him after all.

It was his *brother* Robert!!!

::busts out laughing::

I think this is a sign my obsession has taken over, now that I'm recognizing my former teenage heartthrob's siblings in a non-speaking role when I go see a movie.

I am *very* amused by this.

Also, in sparkly news, I was looking for Footloose on dvd. I didn't find footloose, but I came home with a dvd anyway.
I found "The Fantasticks" on dvd! Joey McIntyre's movie!

::buries face in hands::

I'm a pathetic obsessed sparkly fangirl. It's official.

::runs off to watch dvds::

I didn't realize that he had another brother who acts. I thought it was just him & Mark.

I know! I thought it was just Donnie & Mark, too! I was shocked out of my skin when I saw that yes, I did recognize a Wahlberg, but it wasn't Donnie & it wasn't Mark!

Robert's little bio on imdb.com only had 6 listings. The earliest listing was 1998's Southie.
Looks like he got his start when his bro came to down to do a film and pulled him in for some little part.

Probably. Isn't Mark the one who got Donnie into acting?

hrmmmm... I think so, but I'm not sure. Donnie might've gone that route on his own, without direct help from Mark, just general encouragement.

I saw it at Borders (one of the actual physical stores near where I live). There was only the one copy. But, if their brick & mortar store had a copy, maybe their online store does too, or maybe one of their other actual physical locations!

Yes! I think they know *exactly* who they're marketing too. The special features the back cover boasted about were "more than 30 minutes of addtitional footage including deleted songs, extended songs, deleted scenes, and an alternate ending, plus a "jump to a song" feature"

If you can't find it, I might be able to find a way to hook my dvd player up to my vcr & record the extra stuff!

I liked it. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't a murder mystery, that's for sure.
I liked the way they left all the violent stuff off-camera. I enjoyed the way the character's lives came together again, and I really enjoyed the way the characters were done. Very human (vs. hollywood) and very realistic. I thought Kevin Bacon & Sean Penn both did an excellent job!

The casting of that movie was just amazing!

I recommend you see the movie "Southie". Donnie stars in it, as well as his brother, Robert.

Also known as "Bobbo" back in the NK days....:D

I'll have to look for Southie. I remembering hearing about it when it was being filmed, or shopped for distribution or something.
