My eyes do not like to work together. They want to cross and do other bad things. They didn't always do this. One eye used to like to wander up. Now that eye likes to wander inward.
I have worse vision than I thought. Without my glasses, I'm almost legally blind. Legally blind is vision worse than 20/200.
Without my glasses on, my vision is 20/200. That means I can see the great big E that takes up the whole screen on the vision test. It's not crystal clear, and is in fact a bit on the fuzzy side. It's not yet fuzzy enough for me to not be able to tell what letter it is or what direction it's pointing in.
The *really* scary part is that the last time I had my license renewed and had to take the vision test was several years ago. I passed the dmv vision test without my glasses on. That means, I am legally allowed to drive without my glasses on. Even though I'm almost legally blind without them. I can see shapes and colors and things, just not details until I'm way up close.

Date: 2004-02-16 10:57 pm (UTC)I also have the problem where my eyes cross. I realize it most when I'm driving, and quite frankly it scares me. If I wear my contacts (which is rare), in pictures you can actually SEE my eyes want to cross.
So basically, after my little rant...I feel ya babes.

Date: 2004-02-17 05:47 am (UTC)I think I finally found a doctor who's an expert in dealing with this kind of thing. I have prims in my glasses so I don't get headaches from trying to keep my eyes straight. And then each year when I go in to get a stronger prescription they have to increase the prism.
It's odd, I *never* would've thought my vision was that bad. I can see the world around me. Granted, the outlines of most everything are fuzzy, and I can't read the small words & such until I get up close to things, but I can see the world. 20/200? I would've *never* guessed it was that bad.
