Poor Aaron. He turned 16 on Dec 7th, and within 4 days time has to make the decision to sever all ties with his own Mom, and then announce that to the world.

Poor kid. I hope Nick's there to sympathize & be a properly supportive big brother.

I know, don't you feel bad for him? [sigh] On the other hand, it was probably what he needed to do and good for him, but, y'know. I can't picture severing all ties to my mom at sixteen.

Strangely, you make perfect sense (to me, anyway - but I've been battling off a head cold for the last week, and haven't been thinking real clearly lately).

It's exactly what he needed to do, and in the long run it will be good for him (or so I would presume). But at the same time it's gotta be difficult and painful.

I can't imagine severing ties to my own mother at that age, but I can imagine having the kind of mother (as my own mom did), where that is a necessary step towards self-preservation.
