I just read the sweetest article in![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
reggie_mbg's journal. It was an article from the NY Times, about a couple that went up to Canada to take advantage of their relatively new law that allows gay & lesbian couples to get married. That alone would've been a sweet story. But the couple in this article was an 83 and an 84 year old, and they've been together for 58 years. 58 years! Never holding hands in public, never getting public validation that their love and their relationship is just as good and normal and valid as that of any other couple.
