An excerpt from an article in J-14

The article was a little one discussing where artists get their inspirations for writing their songs..

Due out in early 2004, JC's album, Schizophrenic, is a true reflection of the 27-year-old's sexy, savvy songwriting skills.
The lyrics that he's most proud of are the descriptive opening lines to the track, "Lose Myself":
"She loves daffodils/ And she keeps them on her window sill/ And when the wind blows, her smell fills a room/ She dreams in color but does she know that I love her..."

"her smell..." Huh? That doesn't even make SENSE! I'm sure once it's all part of the song, and I get to listen to it in full, I'll think it's nothing less than brilliant.

ETA: I can't forget to include JC's wonderful analogy on songwriting. "It all comes about in a different way, but once you have that one thing, you just build on it - like Lego. You start with one Lego and everything piles up from there."

Thanks for that, JC. Songwriting is like playing with Legos. I don't think I would've figured that out on my own. Good thing I love ya, you dork.

knowing jc, he probably was saying she smelled like daffodils, which really isn't say all that much. you're right daffodils aren't that strong a scent.
