What Timberlake does next is unclear - to himself as well as his fans. After the European tour ends on Dec. 20, he predicts that he'll "take a little time and just live a little bit, have a nice Christmas" before hitting Great Britain in January. A new 'N Sync project is up in the air; during a May teleconference with reporters, Timberlake said the group would have a new album out in 2004, but he's backing off that now because of bandmate JC Chasez's solo album, which is due out in the spring.

"I've heard a couple of tracks, and I think they're great," Timberlake says, "so I want him to have every opportunity I had to do his own thing and explore those possibilities."
