Nov. 14th, 2003 09:39 amLet the promo overdosing begin!
At least on JC's appearance on the radio this morning with Valentine he changed the wording of his 3 reasons for why some girls dance with women. However, there are only so many ways he can say this. And it's such a different & unusual subject matter (for which I'm eternally grateful) that each time he has an interview or makes an appearance or anything he's gonna get asked about it. I love hearing JC ramble on his adorable little tangents as much as the next fan, but I have a feeling that this is going to get a bit old after a while.
Justin also had these pat answers/comments/tidbits he kept saying in interviews. Justin's got downright irritating after a while. It almost seemed to me that he tried to work those into the conversations/interviews.
JC's just gonna get asked about this unusual song of his by everyone he talks to.
So, after babbling, I have determined that, right this morning anyway, my irritation in this case lies with the interviewers.
Idemand wish that everyone that interviews & talks with JC in regards to the promotion of his new album do their research...
*Know how to properly pronounce JC's last name.
*Research other basic comments made by JC about the song & the album. Repetitious questions are annoying. Not only to JC but to the fans, your listeners/viewers, who already know the answers to the basic questions you're asking. New questions that are interesting & different & still relevant are *good*. Those types of questions are why you people are in journalism.

Wait, so -- when Justin recycled answers, it was irritating, but when JC recycles answers, it's the interviewers' faults? I don't get that.
In any case, as with all promo -- he's gonna get asked the same questions. No interviewer is going to pass up asking the important questions, because most people aren't fans like us and listen religiously to every interview. Most people will turn on their radios for the drive to work and happen to hear JC on the radio, and be curious about whose song this is, and possibly form an opinion of him for the first time. It's just not practical from a publicity standpoint to ask completely different questions in each interview.

Date: 2003-11-14 11:04 am (UTC)Of course it isn't. What I rant about in my journal, when I'm irritated/bitchy/aggravated, for whatever reason or cause does not, and cannot, be the overriding rules of the universe. No matter how much I'd like it to be that way.
I don't quite get the cause of my irritation either. I'm certainly not placing any permanent irrevokable blame on anybody. And just so we're clear, I'm as much of a Justin fan as I am of a JC fan. Lance, Joey & Chris all tie for 2nd. I wish the interviewers that talked with Justin had done their homework as well. The irritation is not the 'fault' of anybody, just a result of the situation & my own insatiable curiosity that has to exercise what little patience I do have to wait for the answers to all the questions that I have floating around in my head that never get asked.
Perhaps I should've changed some of the wording, so as to not sound so absolute & permanent & blaming & accusatory.... especially since I don't like defending & debating my feelings and such (and this post was just asking for that, I know I likely would've had an urge to say something, whether or not I actually would've done so).

hmmmmm, yes. That's where fanfic comes in, I guess -- I don't think there'll ever be a fully satisfactory interview from a fannish standpoint, to tell the sad, sad truth. It's really a shame, since our questions would be much better than any a professional would ask.
