This hiatus bit is really straining a good chunk of fandom. Why people have trouble remembering that we *all* love the group, and that the love of the group means that we love the combined singing efforts of all five of them.
Just because I love Justin doesn't mean I want JC's solo career to shrivel up and die before it has a chance to start. Just because I love JC doesn't mean I think Justin's the devil-incarnate who is trying to do everything he can to sabotage JC. They are bandmates, they're *brothers*. They love each other, and want each other to do well. (I'm talking about all 5 of them here, not just JC & Justin).
Why that concept is so difficult for some folks to comprehend is beyond me.
And one other thing. Jive is a record *company*. That means they're in the business of making money. JC is 1/5th of one of the most successful & popular bands in recent history. He's had a single out that did well on radio. Jive encouraged/pushed JC to make an album. JC did not decide he simply had to make an album and then was forced to beg & plead with Jive to finance & support it.

You might have guessed I can't give you details. . . . However, I can say there was a plan in the early summer that included dates for releasing the first single and the album (JC mentioned them in some public appearances), but as issues arose the timeline could not be met. I think progress has been made on resolving the issues, and some exciting things will begin to happen over the next 45 days. JC has a lot of music recorded over the last year, so there is no delay due to lack of material!
There were issues. Those issues have seemingly been resolved. Part of the resolving of the issues (or so I would assume) include a delay in the release date of the album. Between now and the end of October, we should know a *lot* more about what's going on.
Personally, I have *very* little patience, and waiting & anticipating JC's album has been a huge learning opportunity for me. Frankly, I really don't want any more opportunities to learn patience, but since I don't have any control over that, I suppose that means I'm also going to get a few lessons in accepting things as they come and as they are.

Just dropping in...
Date: 2003-09-15 09:43 am (UTC)It's actually almost difficult to be a fan of the guys' anymore. Not because they make it difficult, but because of all the wars that go on. Admittedly, I have a huge soft spot for JC, but that doesn't mean I have any bad feelings for Justin. Hell, I even own Justified. I think any of the *N Sync boys could do anything, and I'll just squeal and shriek like a little girl over it. Unfortunately, it seems like that can't be the case anymore. You have to pick one guy and go down with the ship, so to speak. It's ridiculous.
I'm also getting impatient for JC's album. I'm trying to be a good girl, but it's just so hard! :)
