Talking myself into (or out of) things...
Mar. 24th, 2009 03:25 pmI've had the same cell phone (Nokia 6133) for 2 years and 3 months.
I have three pet peeves with it.
1) The phone's complete & total inability to view message details (like time sent) without going to a menu and pushing a button three times. [This *really* bugs me]
2) 'open' button sticks out from side of phone, and is VERY easy to push in pocket. This makes the phone try to open which turns self on, drains battery life and also is uncomfy in one's pocket.
3) The screen brightness is unadjustable. This is the most minor of my complaints.
MrB *really* needs a new phone. He has several buttons that are broken, and his ancient phone is starting to not read his SIM card correctly.
He found a Nokia 7510 (http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Cell-Phone-Detail.aspx?cell-phone=Nokia-7510) while looking around at the TMobile store. He hasn't bought it yet (because he's stubborn about buying new things without really really thinking them through first).
But he emailed me about it, and I think I've found my own new cell phone! I'm in love with the front cover. It looks solid until you push a button, then it lights up and can display the time, notification icons, or the title/artist of the current selection on the phone's music player. :D There's also a push-to-open button, but they've made it flush with the side of the phone so no more trying to open in my pocket!
I want to go to the store to see if I can figure out if they've fixed my biggest pet peeve - the inability to view the timestamp of messages in the same screen as the message itself.
If they have... I'll probably get one! But not immediately. I want to check with MrB first. I also can't decide if I want to pay $50 and get a 2 year contract extension, or pay more (at least $100) and have no contract extension or only a 1-year extension.
