Fun on a Sunday...
Jun. 3rd, 2007 05:32 pmWent to the Clinique counter at our local Macy's with a friend who'd never been. I wanted the full consultation done - skin care & the whole nine yards on the makeup. My goal was to learn what kind I needed and how to apply it for my wedding (& also for every day). The lady who did my consult was very nice, very good, and gave wonderful easy to remember/follow instructions on how to apply. Since she liked me so much I spent so much money, she gave me samples of the skin care part of things to use while on my honeymoon, a sample of the blush, and a wonderfully nice tote bag (it wasn't even gift time). I spent about $240 (ouch!) but I needed everything (and I still skipped the tinted sunscreen, heavier concealer, the mascara, and the makeup remover cleanser cream).
I got 2 different eyeshadows, their creamy eyeshadow base, eyeliner, moisturizer, exfoliating lotion, gentle facial soap, foundation, (I've never had foundation so perfect before!!), compact powder, 2 shades of blush, 2 lipsticks, & a lip liner.
I'm VERY pleased with how it came out, and I think that with a little practice (that I have 20 days to do) I should easily be able to duplicate it for the wedding.
There are a few more things I want to go back and get, but I think I'm going to wait for the next gift time. Then I'll get the tinted sunscreen, mascara, makeup remover cleanser cream, another lipstick, another compact powder for my purse, and a couple more eyeshadow shades.
I'm still just in awe over how perfect the foundation is. The lady put stripes of 3 different kinds on my skin and one of them after she put it on and I looked in the mirror I couldn't tell where it was (no blending or anything - it just totally disappeared). It evens things out without covering them up or looking like I have a mask on. Happiness!!
Earlier this afternoon, our cat Maya almost gave me a heart attack when I saw her in my swivel rocker:

The first second I saw her, the thought that ran through my mind was "OMG, is she dead?!", then I saw her chest moving and realized she was just sleeping. She likes sleeping in my chair, but we've never seen her sleeping in that particular position before.
