rosebeeI woke up about an hour ago... it was already 76* outside! And a lovely 62% humidity, too. It was 3 degrees cooler inside the apartment, but the humidity level is a nasty 74%.
It's not supposed to get any better, either! :(
I live about an hour (hour and a half if traffic's bad) from the ocean. Every single hotel room in that town (F) that's closest to mine is booked up. With temperatures in triple digits both here and in the larger city 2 hours to the north, there are thousands upon thousands of people trying to escape the heat in the valley.
So I tried to find a hotel room in the town (CB) on the coast that's an hour and a half south from the one that's directly west of us. The town CB also had all the hotel rooms booked (at least all the chain hotels I'd trust on name only). There were lots of other hotel names that popped up, but they didn't have websites and some of them sounded skanky.
So I looked at another town that's a bit further south (B). And yesterday afternoon I finally found HTB & I a hotel room on the coast!
We're gonna stay here! :D
It's a bit of a drive, but the cars have air conditioning, so the cost of gas will be well worth the ability to actually enjoy the weekend. The forecast for today for where we're going is just *perfect*!! A mere 75 degrees & partly cloudy! :D
I'm not packed yet, but HTB isn't even awake yet. Our goal is to leave town before noon. I'd like to leave by 11. Ideally we'd be gone by 10, but I know that's unrealistic.
