Very much enjoyed as well!
First whine: The movie should've been at least twice as long. I hate how they had to cut out so much stuff! They really made it much more noticeable to guess early on that Moody was behind it all. In the books because of all the subplots (that the movie left out) it came as a total surprise to me when I first read it through!
I kept wishing for a pause button as we were watching the movie! HTB hasn't read the books so all the places where they had no backstory or explanation I kept wanting to be able to pause the movie & explain it all to him!
I wonder what they're gonna cut out of books 5 & 6?
The first 3 movies weren't bad, and the cuts made weren't as noticeable. Owing in large part I assume to the skinnier nature of the books. :)
This isn't to say I didn't like the movie!
I thought it was fabulous!!
It was the best yet for me in terms of how things were portrayed... the closest yet to how I imagined things in my mind.
And I really liked how they didn't spend the entire damn movie in normal/muggle clothes like they did in movie #3! It just sort of ruins the look for me when they're in muggle clothes... it makes a lot more sense for them to be in wizard robes... they're supposed to be wizards after all!
I started on re-reading book #4 yesterday. There are SO many more details and subplots and fullness of story & characters in the books.
It's really too bad they couldn't have brought at least a little bit of that to the movie.
I liked who they had playing Cedric Diggory. The director did the final scene nicely. I wish the maze had been more faithful to the book though. With the critters & no moving walls & stuff.
More to say I think... mind is REALLY jumping around though. And lunch is almost over.
I'll have to come back and add it later.
