SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

rosebeeGot an email last night from Costco.com that said my new computer shipped out! So I checked the tracking and I’m going to get it 3 whole days earlier than I thought!! When I ordered it last Saturday they said the expected ship date would be two weeks from that date (or 1/28).
Early arrival of computer is good! It can’t get here fast enough!!
And now, I squeee & share my glee at the specs of my new darling (who I’ll have to name as HTB & I are going to be setting up a LAN with our two machines & the 1 printer):
-AMD Athlon 64 3700+ processor (2.2GHz / 1MB L2 Cache)
-1GB DDR-400MHz Dual Channel SDRAM (2x512)
-160GB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive
-Double layer 16x max DVD +/-R/RW Drive
-NVIDIA GeForce 6200se graphics card
-Sound Blaster Audigy 4, 24-bit ADVANCED HD Audio card
-Windows XP Pro
-Microsoft Office Basic Edition (Outlook, Word, Excel)
I’ll be continuing to use HTB’s old 19” CRT monitor (he has a 21” CRT that he’ll use).
I’ll keep my old speakers & subwoofer (though with an actual sound card instead of an integrated thing like my old computer has I might want to someday invest in better speakers).
I’m just so excited I can hardly see straight!!
My current (6.5 year old) computer has the following:
384mb ram; 400MHz Celeron processor; 9GB hard drive (which I later supplemented with a 40GB drive); integrated graphics & sound; Windows 98 (not the second edition, the original edition). It originally only came with a CD-ROM, but I later added a CD burner. The only non-basic/standard thing it has was that I sprung for Microsoft Office Small Business Edition.
I can’t WAIT until my new one gets here. I don’t even have a copy of Sims 2 yet, but I’m still really looking forward to seeing what it’s like to play the original Sims on a machine that’s faster than frozen molassas!!
