It seems when one of my sims cooks and 'serves' breakfast/lunch/dinner, that meal will only serve 6 sims. That's fine for my family, since that's how many people are in this house, but that could be a problem if there are ever guests over. I find it kind of odd that a meal only serves 6. Why not 8? or 10?

I never got that either. It sucked. Because by the time you had a second batch of food ready, the people who were served first already left the table and it was tough to strike up a conversation.

In one of the add-ons though, there's an option to hire a caterer when you throw a party and invite guests over.

Ahhh! Is the caterer only available when parties are thrown I wonder? I'll have to go investigate that!

When I have parties I buy the catering table (I think that's what it's called). You don't need a caterer for it; just have one of yours sims prepare it. Serves a *lot* of people.

Oooohh! Perfect! I'll just add that table to my kitchen. Then I don't have to worry about running out of food anytime there's even a single extra sim in the house!

It's only good for one use -- you have to buy a fresh one each time (that's why I only use it for parties). I think it's 150 simoleons.

There are other things you can buy -- a turkey, a plate of cookies, I think some others. (I just don't know what came with the game and what I downloaded, and I havent' played in a while)

Darn, well there goes that idea. I think I do remember seeing a turkey in one of the lists of things to buy.

I'm also thinking of installing a second stove so that more than one meal can be cooking at time.
