4 weeks from tomorrow (Nov. 2nd) the boyfriend and I are driving 8 - 10 hours to attend a wedding (in the town that my boyfriend moved away from to come out here).
The wedding is an evening wedding that begins at 7pm. I have no idea if it's a formal wedding or not. I do know it will be held in a church.

What in the HELL do I wear to something like this?

I'm pretty sure business suits aren't the kind of thing a woman wears to an evening wedding, nor are any of the casual dresses I have.

Therefore, that means I have to go shopping - oh, darn! ;) But, I'd like to know what I have to go shopping for.

Help!!

And evening wedding is usually a little more formal than one in the afternoon. However, your boy should be able to figure out from the personality/background/family of his friend (I'm assuming it's his friend or family, right?) to know whether or not they're going to expect everyone to be super formal or not.

The last evening wedding I attended, I wore this: Plumb-colored fitted dress, just below the knee, drapey neckline, sleeveless, with a wrap, dangly earrings, sassy shoes.

You can't go wrong with classics. The little black dress - though some people say to avoid black at weddings, at night, I think it's okay. I would avoid anything sparkly or glittery. You'll probably see some of it there, but unless the invitation says formal attire, stay clear of it.
