me & Derby...
Oct. 5th, 2011 02:42 pmFrom the very beginning, the late practices for Derby were a problem. The resulting sleep deprivation from not being able to get to sleep until midnight (or later) and having to get up at 6am has never been easy to deal with.
With shorter days now here, and my SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) kicking in, the sleep deprivation aspect is even harder to deal with. I don't want to give up Derby, at least not yet. It's always been a balancing act: the late nights which bring me fun & exercise & stess relief vs the struggle of not getting enough good sleep. I suppose I'll just take it day by day and week by week.
Not to mention the fact that it's now VERY rare that I get a free Saturday for myself now.
Derby doesn't come easily to me, I really have to work at it, and I'm starting to wonder if I want this badly enough to work that hard.
MrB and I are getting ever closer to the time when he'll graduate (June!!) and get a job, and we'll be in serious house-buying mode. This time next year I hope to be well on our way to finding & purchasing our own home.
At that time, I DEFINITELY don't see myself having enough time/desire to continue Derby.
