I have two spreadsheets both with lots of formulas linking back and forth between the two files.

The person who gives me my input data changed how she presented stuff - in a way that makes sense for her & her needs, but results in me needing to make changes in my spreadsheets to accomodate those changes.

Yesterday I started making those changes in one spreadsheet. The dumbass attack happened when I forgot to have *both* spreadsheets open in the same instance of Excel, so that when I deleted a line or renamed a tab in one spreadsheet, the formulas in the second would automatically change. I neglected to do this. So when I deleted a line (or two) and renamed a tab, the formulas in the second spreadsheet broke.

There's a lot of formulas I got to go back and manually fix yesterday.

To make it even MORE fun, these spreadsheets are for reports that are due at 1pm today... and I thought I'd gotten finished creating a new worksheet created in one of the spreadsheets... but of course once I looked at the formulas, I realized I'd only copy & pasted an existing worksheet & had only gotten around to updating about half of the formulas.

I ended up staying at work until 6pm last night (something I rarely do), just so I could have time to fix my formulas. It's still not done, but I at least have until 1pm to finish it!

I think I'm going to shower quickly & get to work as early as possible!

Dreamwidth...

The more I read/learn, the more I like. :D I always did like to shop & do business with small businesses (and while nothing's 'local' on the internet, DW is starting to feel like a nice locally-owned-business that wants to do right and treat all their people right (customers/employees/volunteers/etc).

The cross-posting & all the LJ inter-operability they're planning sounds very nice! I loved LJ when it was owned by a local guy ('small' business owner, if you will), a real human (not a profit-hungry corporation), and someone who really truly cared about the folks who used his creation.

I've been on LJ a LOT longer than I ever expected I would... I created my account here in Sept 2002. Fandom drived it, and 90% of my friends list are great friends I've met because of a shared nsync fandom. Due to the break up haitus, we've all moved on a developed other interests, but I think most of us (I know this holds true for me anyway) are still and always will be fans of nysnc & one or more of the 5 wonderful guys who made up that group.

Why Dreamwidth

I'm planning on being Rosebee over at DW. One reason I haven't moved from LJ before (though I set up usernames - that I've never used - at Vox, and a couple other places) was because I still wanted to easily be able to keep in touch with all of you wonderful lovely people! :D {{{hugs}}} I think DW will let me do that, especially with the cross-posting & everything.

I know I'll still keep my LJ account so I can log in and follow folks who stay here, though there may also be plans in the works for DW to be able to forward my friendslist post for me automatically... we'll see how things work out.
