I can haz vacation?
Apr. 8th, 2008 12:52 pmI want another vacation! I want to stay home and play Sims2, and I want to stay home and sew things. I want to stay home and do nothing and read and play with the cutest kitty ever (also known as Maya).
I want to run away with MrB and go for a walk/hike in the forest.
Work's going ok, but there's a lot going on this month. Today isn't too bad so far ::knocks on wood::, but yesterday everything & everybody wanted attention and all at the same time, of course.
Went for another hike/walk on Sunday. No big mountain/hill or anything this time, just a meandering walk around the arboretum trails that are next to the hill we went up the weekend before last.
MrB and I didn't really go out on any hikes while we were on our honeymoon at Glacier National Park (because that place had a lot of interesting stuff to go see & do and also because we were out-of-shape and wanted a nice & relaxing vacation). But the vacation we're going to do this fall to the Olympic Peninsula I don't want the same thing to happen. I want to be in good enough shape that I can comfortably go do any day hike that strikes my fancy.
I'm not there yet. But at least I have 5 and a half months to get there!
I should hop on my Orbitrek tonight.
I need a new bicycle! I just bought one a 2-3 years ago (and spent $300 on it after doing a lot of research)... but it turns out it's too big for me and it's uncomfortable for me to ride. I had these dreams of riding my bike to work and doing all this road/paved trail riding so I got a bike that's basically a road bike with mountain bike style handles. But I just realized that the bike I'll actually use is a mountain bike to go riding on trails around town for fun, and on trails while on vacation. So I'm going to go shopping this weekend at local bike shops to try and find a bike that's not too big. I'm only 5'2", and I do NOT like feeling stretched out, I like to be comfortable when I ride, and I don't care how straight up I'm sitting (I'm not going to be in any races, I just want to be comfortable and have fun).
So a new bike that fits me all over: legs, torso, & arms!
