The sewing class yesterday was good. Learned how to put on zippers, as well as buttons & buttonholes! Made 2 pillows that I think I'm going to give away as a Christmas gift to someone, as MrB says they're way too 60's of a fabric print for him. And he's right the colors are are gold/yellow with a bit of an awful shade of green. So I'll go buy a couple of 14" pillow forms and find someone to give them away to. I may hold on to them and give them away in my office's annual white elephant gift exchange.
The class in 2 weeks is about how to use patterns. For that class I'm going to try this dress. I picked up a nice fuschia cotton knit fabric that should make a nice dress. I'm hoping it shouldn't be too difficult, as it's just a t-shirt attached to a skirt.
Then the class on Dec 2nd is an open sew lab, and I'm going to try this beautiful long dress. The one in the lower left hand corner of the package front. The fabric I'm going to use for this dress is a cotton print I found that I absolutely LOVE - it's navy with lots of little lavender flowers all over it. Even MrB says he can see that fabric and that dress view being very good together.
He's not so sure about the other fabric though. We'll see how it turns out. Both patterns, plus the fabric, plus the buttons for the long dress, and thred for both came out to be all of $40. I'd pay more than that for a single dress in the store!
