We've had Maya for roughly 36 hours now, and things are going fairly well. She's using the litter box just fine, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the litter we chose (Tidy Cats Small Spaces). There's hardly any odor at all, and all the clumps stick together fabulously.
She's getting acclimated to the new environment, and the first 12 - 24 hours she startled really easily at every noise. She has a couple favorite hidey-holes! One is under our bed, and the other is underneath a folding table (the table leaves fold down leaving something that's only a foot wide). It's about 6 - 8" off the floor, and we have a metal shelf leaned up in front of it (becuase we didn't have room on the shelving unit for another shelf). She likes to lay underneath the table behind the grate and just watch everything.
We got all the vet info from HTB's brother & sister-in-law.
( vet stuff )
My only concern is that she's barely eating at all! :( It's probably a combination of the new environment, and I bet she's still recovering from being spayed on the 14th.
I first put out a day's worth of the food she was eating at her old place (they just said they used the Nutro Brand, so I just grabbed one - I've since asked them what specific variety they were using). Then I put out a second dish of just the Innova. That she actually ate a few bites of, but only a few.
( more on the not-eating )
The pouch food is quite a bit more expensive than the dry food, but I just want her to eat! If the pouches work I'll do that for a week or so until she finishes recovering from her surgery and feels more comfortable here. Then I'll slowly transition her to just the dry food.
I have some pictures, but they're just the ones taken with my camera phone (I have a microSD card in my phone, and an adapter card so I can transfer the pictures to my computer using the SD card reader built into the front panel of my computer - ain't technology wonderful?!) HTB's been taking pictures with the digital camera but he hasn't uploaded them to the shared folder on the HTPC (yes, we have 3 networked computers in our house). So I can't get to the pictures right away.
