poking my head up above the depths for a moment...

I've really been avoiding LJ lately. I'm still alive & well (relatively). I've had a few interviews, and have another one scheduled in a couple of weeks. I keep hoping that the job market will really pick up after the holidays are over. I suppose I'll know when I see the classified section of the paper come Sunday morning.

I've been spending a lot of time with my family lately. My mom doesn't work so she and I have been spending most afternoons together. Grandma's staying with my parents so in the evenings it's me, my folks, and grandma. It helps (a bit) to keep my mind off things. Some days are better than others, though.

The boyfriend came over for Christmas last weekend, and that was really nice. We had some communication issues (differing sets of expectations for the weekend that we failed to share with one another), but other than that things went well. I am very happy to report that he doesn't like my brother or my biological father any more than I do! So that means I won't be hearing him try to convince me I should get closer, spend more time with, and etc either one of those two people.

I have no idea what all of you guys are up to. I can't remember the last time I read LJ. I can barely cope with my day to day life right now. And even that overwhelms me from time to time. I'll be glad when I find a job and me and my personality gets back to normal (I'll be happy to have these sad, depressed, & mopey days behind me).
