Found this gem in the memories section of [livejournal.com profile] pop_reference, from a post by [livejournal.com profile] sarahq:

article on Chuck Yerger
quoted from that article: "JC showed outstanding ability with accounting. In fact, he excelled in it so much, he actually helped me explain it to his classmates. While some of the other kids struggled, JC would take a look at rows of figures, and in a few moments figure out where a mistake had been made. His 'N Sync buddies are fortunate to have him in the band. Besides being a great talent, here's a guy who can make sure the books are balanced."

I did that, too! No, really!! My accounting teacher in high school was having trouble explaining a certain concept to the class (like the rest of what I learned in that class, I figured it out quickly), and he pestered me for a week to agree to teach the class for a day & explain that concept to my classmates.

It makes my little CPA heart go pitter-patter! MFEO!

I'm so glad I have you all to indulge me in my occasionally insanely-teenie-like squealings of joy.

Moving date is getting closer & closer.

I think I've gotten all of the utilities stopped & started at the correct places.

I'm going to have to pack up my computer Friday night after work and load all the parts in the backseat of my car. That sucker's gonna be one of the first things unloaded.

And a very good thing about this move? Right now I pay around $42 a month for cable internet. This gets me 768Kb DL & 128Kb upload. The cable internet at my new place is the same price per month. And for that price, I get 1.5Mb download, and 256Kb upload. But, it gets better. Starting around the first of the year, those download & upload speeds will (almost) double. I'll get 3Mb down & 384 up. And they said they're gonna do that & not raise prices.

<---- is happy!!

Access Hollywood airs at 1pm in my neck of the woods

That means I just got to see their little on-the-set visit with JC...

All 3 of my VCRs are packed up in boxes somewhere.

I DESPERATELY hope someone will be able to tape this & upload it to share!

BTW - the clip was over by 1:21pm... I'd say it probably started no later than 1:15pm.
Though, to be safe, I'd tune in by 10 minutes into whenever the show starts in your area.

Justin and Missy Elliot to co-write "This World Is Ours"
Timbaland To Lead 'World' Charity Remake

Timbaland plans to revisit the USA For Africa charity project "We Are the World" to raise funds for worldwide HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention programs. The hip-hop artist/producer confirmed the plans Monday night (Oct. 27) at the second annual YouthAIDS Gala in New York.

Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliott will co-write the new version, which will be titled "The World Is Ours." Like the original, which involved an all-star roster of more than 40 vocalists, a cast of contemporary artists is being recruited for the project.

Due in spring 2004, "The World Is Ours" is being made with the blessing of Quincy Jones, who produced the original. Beat Club Records will release the single, which will be distributed by Interscope. Proceeds will benefit YouthAIDS and Jones' Listen Up Foundation.

A "The World Is Ours" video will premiere on VH1, the official media partner for the project, and MTV. A VH1 special about the recording of the song is also planned and an accompanying DVD will be produced by QD3, Jones' son.

Wow! If Justin's co-writing this with Missy, with Timbaland producing it, and 40+ other singers/vocalists this could be rather cool. Personally, I'm looking forward to the DVD about the recording. It's bound to have lots of good footage!

And I betcha that the rest of *NSYNC'll sing on the song, too!

Spears sings an apology to Timberlake

By Jeannette Walls with Ashley Pearson
MSNBC

Oct. 23 - Britney Spears is telling Justin Timberlake she’s sorry in a song. The once-virginal singer -- who lately has developed a penchant for partying and stripping off her clothes in public -- has written a tune to be included on her upcoming CD, "Everytime" in which she apologizes to a wronged love. People who’ve heard the song say it’s clearly directed at her former flame and fellow Mouseketeer, Timberlake.

TIMBERLAKE TOOK pot shots at Spears in his song, "Cry Me A River" amid reports that she was unfaithful to him. Spears denied those rumors, but the lyrics of the new song suggest otherwise. "I may have made it rain / Please forgive me / My weakness caused you pain / And this song is my sorry," Britney sings, according to the London Sun. The tune goes on to plead for reconciliation. "Come notice me and take my hand / So why are we strangers when our love is strong?"

A source who knows Justin, when told about the song, chortled, "Don’t hold your breath, Britney."

Emphasis on song lyrics added by me.

This is highly amusing. I wonder what Justin'll sing/write about next?
