May. 3rd, 2004 07:11 amYou know, it's amazing how talking for 2+ hours on the phone every day to one's boyfriend drastically reduces the amount of time one has to read & post to LJ. *g* Not that I'm complaining, mind you.
It was a nicely productive weekend. I got my laundry done. I got the rest of my new plants potted up, they're now sitting prettily on my patio with all my other plants. I went to the library and got new books. An author I haven't read before, Kate Elliott. I got books 1- 4 of her 'Jaran' series. It looks like they could be decent. (I'll keep my fingers crossed).
I also got my *very* old bike in rideable condition. New tubes, new tires, new batteries for the spedometer & headlight, and of course, air in the tires. It's a bike! This bike has been with me for half my life. It was the bike my parents bought for me to do my paper route with when I was 13. I really, really want to get a new bike. I'll have to save up my pennies. Though, this bike is one I can leave anywhere and it has a very low likelihood of being stolen.
I'd love to have this bike at my own apartment, but I don't really have any place to put it, so it's currently residing on the ceiling of my parents garage. The apartment does have a little bike rack underneath the stairs on the first level (I'm on the 2nd floor). I suppose my bike'd be just fine there for the summertime. I don't think I want to leave it out there all winter, however (since it would *not* get ridden then). Though, the way my life's been going I really should *not* plan on anything being the same in 6 or 7 months from now. (aka - the boyfriend really likes to be outside doing things, going for bike rides, hours-long walks, and so forth).
I should go finish my breakfast, and get myself ready for work.
