-Bored! I should be finishing my breakfast right about now.
I could be reading either the several books I got at the used bookstore this weekend, or the quartet of books I got at the library last week.
I also could be starting to watch one of the 3 dvds the boyfriend & I rented on Sunday, back when we thought we'd actually have time to watch them. We didn't end up having time to watch any of them as we went out for a late dinner with R & M (the boyfriend's brother & sister-in-law).
The dvds we rented? The Italian Job, The Bourne Identity, and The Last Samurai. All good movies that I'm looking forward to watching. However, I forget to make time to watch them. I've been getting home from work, grabbing something for dinner, and calling the boyfriend.
Methinks I need to remember to squeeze in a little extra time while I'm making & eating dinner to watch these dvds before they have to go back to the store (Friday @ midnight). Hmmm... perhaps I'll exercise when I get home from work tonight, make dinner, and eat dinner all while watching one of these dvds. It sounds like a good plan, but I'll have to wait and see if I can follow through with the execution of it.
-I've really been on a lull as far as fandom's concerned. I want one of them to come out and *do something*! The vicarious attending of JC's concerts/club shows isn't doing it for me. I want a Celebrity Tour DVD. I want Justin's movie to be released. I want CFTC and all 5 guys together, singing. I want to hear actual truthfulgossip news about a new album being started. I want Chris's solo-thing to take off and do something.
::sigh::
Who knows how long I'll have to wait for all of that.
-The boyfriend & I also talked about upgrading my computer. He went to pricewatch.com and helped me price out what I would need [all #'s are approximate]. 512MB of additional RAM - $60, Windows 2000 Professional - $75 (just for the license, this assumes I canhijack borrow the installation disks from someone/somewhere)... and optionally, get a new motherboard - $130, and get a new processor for the motherboard - $75. Total price, including motherboard & processor = $340.
New computers typically come with all kinds of extra software & such... I have Office 2000, so I suppose I should see how much it would cost me to upgrade some of my software. I'd want to upgrade Office, but I'm not sure what else I'd want to upgrade.
I know new computers are being sold for $400 - $500.
I'll have to price out the exact specifications of those new computers, and what the boyfriend can help me upgrade my existing computer to.
Hmmm... interesting.I think I'm gonna go scamper off and see what the minimum and recommended requirements are for Windows 2000 Professional.
Here are the minimum system requirements for running the Windows® 2000 Professional operating system.
Minimum Requirements
Computer/Processor = 133 MHz or higher Pentium-compatible CPU.
Memory = At least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM; more memory generally improves responsiveness.
Hard Disk = 2 GB with 650 MB free space.
CPU Support = Windows 2000 Professional supports single and dual CPU systems.
Drive = CD-ROM or DVD drive.
Display = VGA or higher resolution monitor.
Keyboard = Required.
It'll be nice to have separate password & logins. That way I'll be able to have a password for myself, and I can leave myself logged in to LiveJournal, and I can have a password for the boyfriend, and I won't have to worry about him accidentally seeing the private stuff I have on LJ. Not that he'd want to pry, in fact he's said he doesn't want to... it's more of a just-in-case kind of thing.
