Now it's an April release-
APRIL?!?!!?!!?!
What the FUCK?!
This is absolute bullshit!
Those that have done their research into this site
fuskeez, have determined that things they have 'reported' on include a Justin/Ashanti duet, a Justin/Christina duet, the 'seriousness' of Justin & Alyssa's relationship, and etc. Their credibility is *not* high.
However, rumors usually start from something. And the album was delayed several times. Perhaps when they were first determining how far to delay the album, in addition to the date finally decided on, they also discussed pushing it back to April.
If they're waiting for Some Girls to take off and be this huge giant hit, I really don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. Justin's stuff I think managed to appeal to a much wider audience. JC's song, since it's not quite as much of an R&B song (no matter what rapper they attempted to shove into the song), I really don't think it's gonna have the appeal across-the-board that Justin's debut song did.
::sigh::
I can see where the record company's coming from. They want to hold off just a bit on releasing the album, so that the song has a nice big momentum going that will carry the album when it's released.
But, as far as me personally is concerned, I'm so tired of waiting that I just want the album, and I want it NOW!
I hope that this is just a rumor. Somehow though, given what's happening with Some Girls on TRL, I kinda doubt it.
I know here in fandom, we're all so hyped and amped up for this album, that we want it and we want it now. But, I think in the music audience at large, this JC as an artist, his song, and this album haven't really begun to hit the radar yet.
Justin's the type of artist that is a big superstar, JC'll be one of the first people to tell you that.
JC, as I see it, is *much* much closer to being a singer-songwriter type. The albums of singer-songwriters do not blow up huge from the get-go the way albums of the big-ass superstars do. They build slowly, through word of mouth, and a slow gradual appreciation of their music.
'cept the thing is... the type of music that JC's doing, is *not* the typical type of music of your average singer-songwriter. He kinda falls in the middle.
Though. JC did say this morning, when Jive reps were in the room, that the CD drops Feb. 24th.
I dunno.
Work was hellishly stressful. Too much to do, and not nearly enough time to do it in. And to top it all off, Wednesday morning I leave with one of the boss-men to go out to Eastern Oregon for an audit. The first audit I've really done in a couple of years. It makes me rather nervous. I want to do a good job, but it's been long enough that I don't remember nearly enough of what I want to, and it's taking me a lot longer to remember all that stuff than I'd like.

Date: 2004-01-26 08:31 pm (UTC)I just - yeah. I think I got a little too comfortable, what with the clips being out, and especially with Some Girls out on video, and such. I was like "Oh, man, there's no way they'd move it back again. At least, not by a lot." Yeah.
Whether this is true or not - the thing is, it wouldn't surprise me at this point. We've had so many release dates that I don't think I can count them on both hands AND feet.
I'll just be in my corner, singing to myself. If the CD comes out in the next decade, give me a heads up ;-)
(And by the way, I hope the audit goes well for you :-) )

Date: 2004-01-26 08:38 pm (UTC)-Enjoy whatever I get from them, whenever I get it.
-*Lightly* pencil in release dates I hear about, and get ready to change them quickly.
-Believe a release date when I'm at the record store with the cd in my hot little hands.
-Encourage them to release the album as soon as humanly possible.
-Call/email who & where ever I can to persuade the artist/record company to release the album sooner.
(I don't usually do too good with that last one)

Date: 2004-01-28 06:15 am (UTC)You made perfect sense there and I agree w/ your full commentary. Unfortunately that may be a logical reason for the album to be pushed back b/c the single is just now picking up. :\
