So. If I read this post from
timberho right, CBS is doing an investigation into the "wardrobe malfunction". If that investigation shows that Janet & Justin planned/schemed in advance to flash Janet's pierced nipple to the world, then CBS will remove both Janet & Justin from the Grammy Awards telecast on Sunday...
I don't like this. Not one fucking little bit.
Though, I am taking comfort in the fact that the source of this report is ultimately the NY Post. Aren't they a tabloid-type thing, rather than a real newspaper?
From an email list I'm on (TOFTC) they shared some reports from JC's interview with The End radio station in Sacramento yesterday.
from 6mustang @ the JJB:
JC just got in town from Orlando. He was watching the Super Bowl with friends and the DJ asked him about the half time show. JC said that they all looked at each other and said "Did we just see what we thought we saw" and then they ran to the internet to catch a replay! He said he knew Justin would be there and would be singing RYB. JC said it wasn't Justin's fault because it must have been something that Janet had asked him to do as part of their song together. JC also said that he thought it wasn't really the time or place for it. That the Super Bowl should be more about the football and that there were little kids watching it.
There was one call from a listener. Of course, it was a screaming teeny who couldn't think of a question to ask him! The DJ asked JC if he ever got tired of people acting like that and he said that he didn't because that meant people liked him and it made him work hard on his songs. Also, at the very beginning, the DJ was asking him about how his name is pronounced and he said he had heard it pronounced every possible way and that the funny thing is that his mom pronounces it with the accent on the first syllable and his dad pronounces it with the accent on the last syllable.
They asked which cd was the first he bought with his own money : Led Zeppelin
favorite ice cream: lately dulce la leche (sp?), but really likes mint chocolate chip
favorite movie: ROTK He says he knows it almost word for word. They asked if he wanted to be a hobbit and
he said no, Gandolf.
I just got back from class so I only got to hear the last 15 minutes or so of the interview. Here's what I can remember: They were talking about Schizophrenic, and JC said that he thinks it's something new, it's fresh, and he did it for himself. He said he thinks it's really different. They played "100 Ways" too.
What else... oh, they got into this HUGE conversation about "The Lord of the Rings"! He said that's his favorite movie & he went ON and ON about it. He said that he could be any of the characters, he knows all of the lines. He went on more about the movie & said something like, "My wand could beat the CRAP out of your sword! I fell through seven layers of hell!"
Then he talked about some of his upcoming appearances on Craig Kilborne, Ellen, etc.
He also said the first album he ever bought with his money was Led Zeppelin...
Why people are so upset about the halftime show thing that they feel forced to find a scapegoat is almost unfathomable.
It was an accident. (I think, anyway). The camera's were so far out nothing much could be seen. And if you think about it, isn't that a really funny place for the cameras to be for a grand finale of the superbowl halftime show performance?
::sigh::
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the media over the next few days.
I'm up early today so I can get to the office at 7am and leave to go on a business trip until Friday night.
I likely won't have any internet access until after I get back. :( But, I'll be too busy to care, so I suppose it doesn't really matter.
Most hotels nowadays have cable, including mtv & other good stuff, so I won't be completely deprived.
I can't wait until the weekend gets here & I can see the Making Of Halftime Show, and see what happens with the Grammys.
